“It’s an old-fashioned, dense and waxy whisky from a classic period of distilling. Especially in a blended malt, we are looking for a whisky with a beginning, middle and end, a flavour narrative that makes sense. Here, blood orange and cranberries lead to grapefruit and raspberries, with dried mint and orange oil later on.”

Tasting Notes

Nose

Blood orange, fruit cake batter and cranberries. With time in the glass a more savoury side develops with redcurrant sauce and black pepper, while the citrus becomes even more pronounced with a grapefruit notes popping out.

Palate

A dense, almost waxy texture with flavours of grapefruit and chocolate. Freeze-dried raspberries and rich vanilla ice cream come through alongside a touch of dried mint leaf.
