Formerly a Royal Navy supplier, Caroni is now a ghost distillery with cult status. This is one of a pair of sister casks acquired by Elixir, each column-distilled in 1997 and aged for 13 years on the island, and a further 16 in Scotland.

“Caroni continued to produce this particular, heavy style, different to most Trinidad rum, even after the Navy stopped the daily rum ration. After all this time, each of these casks has developed its own character. This one, #189, is a tropical fruit salad, with the addition of grapefruit – plus almond cake and spice notes.”
